EGO CONSUMER

Platforms Project, Athens, Greece, 2026

Batch No. 01 is an installation of five objects made from textile waste and reconfigured as construction bricks. The work reflects on consumption and material transformation: what has been produced, used and discarded becomes a new structural unit — a fragment from which a system can be assembled again.

The five waxed bricks grouped on a pale ground, upright and lying down
The glass-roofed hall of the Tobacco Factory, white partition walls and visitors moving between them
The EGO CONSUMER wall: screens, works and the bricks laid out on a low table
The weathered inner façade of the Tobacco Factory, tall steel windows under the glass roof
A single brick on the bare concrete wall of the factory, paint and rust around it

Platforms Project is an international independent art fair in Athens dedicated to independent artistic platforms and contemporary practices from around the world; in 2026, it took place at the Tobacco Factory from 17–20 September.

At JS Gallery by IMC (platform 63), 11 artists presented EGO/CONSUMER, curated by Julia Sysalova. The project explores consumption as a mechanism of identity construction, examining how choice, desire and acquisition become active forces in the formation of the contemporary self.
